SPARK Seattle 2017 - Your Recap

Mixing, mingling, brainstorming, admiring - all were to be had at this year's SPARK Seattle event. With seven vendors filling the Graypants studio showcasing their newest and best work, the atmosphere was nothing short of ideal. The bold tiles from Fireclay, the incredible textiles of Designtex and Cambria's stunning marble slabs all came together to present a feast of discovery.

Meyer Wells rose to the occasion as well, debuting two new recently released products. The Willow Block, a design added to our product line at the first of the year, was a knock out in it's clean Nordic finish which really allowed the grain to pop when juxtaposed with the venue's warm wood floors. The quarter scale Willow models we displayed were also a hit with the crowd as many stopped by to play with them and in turn discover the many configurable options these blocks provide when nested together.

We were also able to represent our latest release with our standing height Barlow Table. Finished in Nordic with a bright Terra Cotta metal base, the Barlow Table was right at home in the space. People met, discussed and ate around it throughout the night, proving its functionality as a well thought out gathering spot.

For the raffle giveaway this year, we put up one of our beloved Fuller Tables for one lucky winner to take home. To spice things up, we gave the block a new petrified finish that pulls out the grey, green and blue tones of the wood. The end result is a wood table with stone qualities.

This year the event went one step further, raising awareness and support for Urban Artworks, an amazing local charity that encourages young people to find their inner creativity and give it back to the community. The organization is about creating positive and beautiful works of public art that in turn create a connection between the artists and their community. Meyer Wells donated a Maple slab to the cause to become a wood canvas for one of their incredible artists to paint during the event. Joseph Steininger, the man behind the final piece had us all floored by his ability to capture such beautiful and refined details with spray paint. We were all honored to witness even just a peek at the possibilities and capabilities of the many artists that help to push this organization.

Every year we look forward to SPARK Seattle for the chance to meet with our clients and fellow vendors in a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by local talent. If you weren't able to attend this year don't worry, SPARK Portland is just around the corner. In the meantime, we will continue to release new products over the coming months. Keep yourself up to date on our product releases and events by joining our mailing list or by following us on twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. As for SPARK, cheers to four years strong and to many more!
